Makeup Wishlist: What’s New at Sephora

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Augustana chapter.

It may be the end of the term at Augie, but it is just the beginning of new makeup coming out for spring. Of course, this is both an amazing and terrible time for a makeup junkie like myself because I have a huge selection of amazing new products to test out and distract me from studying for finals.

A makeup addiction, however, is one that should always be soothed. So here are some of the most exciting, new makeup products at Sephora!

  1. Stila Shimmer & Glow Liquid Eyeshadow

These liquid eyeshadows are so cool! Liquid eyeshadow is a little frightening because it is not the regular powder formula, but it’s also a really easy way to glam up your look. They are so incredibly pigmented and the formula seems so smooth. You can add some quick transition shades into your crease, pop one of these Shimmer & Glow liquid eyeshadows onto your eyelid, and quickly blend them out for a beautiful eye look!

     2. Becca Anti-Fatigue Under Eye Primer

My under eye bags are Prada, so it’s only reasonable that they get the best treatment out there. This Becca primer will reduce under-eye puffiness and smooth out fine lines so your complexion looks more even and awake. It’s filled with cucumber, matcha, and caffeine, and with finals coming up, this would be the perfect thing to hide signs of serious fatigue.

    3. Sephora Collection Miniature Palette

The Sephora Collection is one of my favorite brands at Sephora because it is so affordable and the quality of the products are great! This mini palette is perfect for a quick eye look that can still look beautiful. They come in matte, shimmer, and glitter finishes as well, so you can mix and match them to create different looks. These mini palettes come in three different types: the cool-toned, Nougat Shades Collection, the pink Donut Shades Collection, and the warm-toned Cookie Shades Collection. The best part? Each palette is just $10.

     4. Sephora Collection #Lipstories Lipstick

The Sephora Collection is really awesome for the girl on a budget who is still looking for quality products. The Sephora Collection #Lipstories lipsticks are incredibly creamy and dry down to a matte finish. They come in a range of amazing shades and are only $8! For the quality and shade range, these lipsticks are a serious steal!

     5. Fenty Beauty Mattemoiselle Plush Matte Lipstick

Of course, this list would not have been complete without our queen of basically everything, Rihanna. The new Mattemoiselle lipsticks are gorgeous and complement every woman of every skin tone, which was the main goal of the entire Fenty Beauty brand. I have seen so many amazing women rocking shades in this line. Rihanna really hit it out of the ballpark with unique shades like Midnight Wasabi (a green shade) and Clapback (a dark navy blue) and more common shades like Ma’Damn (a red) and Up 2 No Good (a peachy nude).

     6. Benefit Cosmetics BADgal BANG! Volumizing Mascara

Benefit recently came out with this new mascara, and the claims on it are very impressive. It will give your lashes some serious lashes and wear for 36 hours, so you can have some flawless eyelashes while you’re studying for finals.

7.. NARS Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation

This new NARS foundation is a medium to full coverage foundation that is perfect for nearly every skin type. This new line has a range of 33 shades, which is pretty inclusive, so that is a huge plus point. It claims to have a 16-hour, fade resistant wear that still feels comfortable and lightweight on the face. It claims to be sweat-proof and transfer-resistant. This foundation is meant to give your skin a natural yet radiant finish, so you can glow for 16 hours straights, even if you’re drowning in coursework.

     8. Tarte Clay Play Face Shaping Palette II

There’s a reason it’s called a face shaping palette–because it is literally all you need to complete your makeup. It comes with three face powders (a blush, bronzer, and highlighter), and nine eyeshadows (six matte shades and three lustrous shades). All of the powders are made with Amazonian clay, which is a key ingredient in a lot of Tarte’s products and is definitely a defining aspect of their brand. This palette is amazing if you’re looking for an all-in-one product that can help you put together a whole look without having to carry around or buy more individual products.

So these were some of the new makeup products that caught my eye while I was browsing the Sephora website instead of studying for finals. But I definitely plan on looking back at this during my treat yo’self trip to Sephora to celebrate the end of the term, and I hope you do too!
