Nothing screams winter and holidays more than peppermint! I love incorporating it in whatever I can when Christmas rolls around. One of my favorite things to put it in is hot chocolate! Not only is it tasty, but it’s perfect for the cold weather. Here’s a delicious recipe for peppermint hot chocolate to keep you warm this holiday season.
Ingredients:
- 1 ½ cups of heavy cream
- 1 ½ cups milk
- ¼ cup sugar
- ⅛ tsp of salt
- 6 ounces bittersweet chocolate, chopped
- 3 drops peppermint oil
Optional:
- Whipped cream
- A candy cane
Directions:
- Chop the chocolate into small pieces.
- In a saucepan over medium-low heat, combine the cream, milk, sugar, and salt.
- Once the mixture begins to steam, add the chopped chocolate. Stir until melted.
- Stir in the peppermint oil.
- Pour hot chocolate into mug.
- Top with whipped cream and add a candy cane (whole or crushed) on on top for a cute decoration!
