Sleep deprived thoughts after a college all-nighter by G. William Murphy

6:00am

Done.

Now to enfold myself in the shroud of sleep

For an hour.

6:10

Pillow.

Voices in my room that aren’t real won’t shut up

Just ignore them.

7:00

Alarm.

REM cycle interrupted

or did it start?

7:30

Dressed.

Time for breakfast

The slow march begins.

7:40

Food.

Feel strung out,

Like a sandwich.

7:50

Aware.

Realize my consciousness is separate

From my physical form.

8:00

Stare.

Space is infinite

Feel shrunken, small, and awkward.

8:10

Dorm.

Consciousness and clarity returning, but

I am gone…
