School is now in full swing and as tests and the first grades of the semester are quickly approaching it’s important to remember to KEEP CALM. So last weekend some friends and I took an afternoon for some relaxation at Chewacla State Park before everything gets crazy with school and extra curriculars. I wanted to go because, as a sophomore, it didn’t feel right that I had lived in Auburn for over a year and had never been. I decided for my first adventure in Chewacla, I wanted to see the waterfall everyone talks so much about. It’s a short walk from the parking area to the waterfall and it’s beautiful! I hung my hammock between two trees and just lay in the shade listening to the water. It was exactly what I needed to mentally prepare myself for the semester ahead. On a nice day, it’s perfect to find a shady spot and just chill for a while. Even if you don’t go to Chewacla, find what relaxes you and what brings you peace. Maybe the outdoors isn’t your thing, that’s fine! It’s important to remember not to let the business of school completely take over our lives. Do yourself (and your friends and family) a favor and prevent stress before it happens.
