5 Things About Summer To Look Forward To After Finals

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Auburn chapter.

It can be hard to think of summer when finals are coming at us full force, but they make great motivators for studying! Here are some suggestions to think about when you’re studying in the RBD and can’t wait for Friday.

Being Outside

The weather in Auburn has been beautiful lately, but with finals right around the corner and school in general, there’s not much time to be outside. Lately I’ve found myself staring out the library window, wishing I was by the pool. During the summer, you’ll have all the time in the world to be out in nature, whether it be at the pool or on a hike.

Trips

This can mean annual beach trips or random road trips with friends! During the school year it’s not exactly easy to plan a trip with several conflicting schedules. But soon, spontaneous trips can be something that happens every week. Have fun exploring!

No School Work

This is an obvious one, but the thought of summer being merely a week away makes me so excited to be back home. Also, the thought of not having any tests or projects to worry about for the next couple of months makes me even more excited. Those summer months will go by fast, so don’t take advantage of it!

Trying/Learning New Things

Have you ever wanted to learn how to play guitar? Or read an entire book series? Or learn how to do a back flip? Summer is your time. You probably don’t think about it, but during the summer you have so much time to learn something new! With no school responsibilities, you’re free to do, or learn, whatever you please.

Sleeping Whenever

I know all of you, including me, will be catching up on your sleep this summer, even more than enough sleep. This is the time to sleep in until noon, and go to bed at whatever ungodly hour you desire. You’ll want to use the last week of summer to get back into a regular sleep schedule though.
