5 Stylish Game-Day Outfits That Aren’t Dresses

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Auburn chapter.

When it comes to early Saturday mornings, many of us (myself included) find it easiest to grab one our standard game-day dresses out of the front of our closets, throw them on, and get on our way to our favorite tailgates. However, with a new head coach and a (cough, cough) more hopeful-looking season this coming fall, maybe it’s time for us fans to switch it up a little, too.

While there’s nothing wrong with pulling out those tried and true dresses every now and then …why not step out of the box and have some fun with your game-day wardrobe? So, without further ado, I present five of our favorite game-day outfits that aren’t dresses. Check them out, and maybe even incorporate some of the pieces into your football-watching wardrobe!

1. High-Low Top, Dark Denim & Wedges

You may recognize the pattern on this top as one that you don’t normally see on Auburn fans, houndstooth. However, the swirled appearance of the pattern gives it a new look that looks even more fabulous in orange and blue. The dark skinny jeans give more of an edge to the flowing top, while the beige wedges balance out the color palette.

2. Statement Scarf

When it comes to attending games later in the season, warmer clothing is a must. The vibrant Auburn colors in this adorable scarf allow it to be paired with more simple outfits. This accessory is sure to show off your school spirit all the way to December.

3. Studded Shorts & A Tucked-In Top

Have a cute, but seemingly plain orange or blue top? Pair it with some studded shorts for an incredibly trendy look. Pinterest shows us that shorts like these can be made by even the least-crafty of collegiettes.

4. Belted High-Low Skirt

High-low skirts make a statement and allow us to relax the rest of our look a bit. Utilize the more neutral pieces in your wardrobe that aren’t normally associated with game-day by pairing them with a skirt like this. Accentuate your waist with a belt, and you’re good to go.

5. Pattered Shorts & A Casual Top

I love the bold, but feminine pattern on these washed-out navy shorts. The adorable bow in the front of the shorts make them perfect for more simple, but still spirited tops. The outfit is styled casually with a pair of flats and a leather over-the-shoulder bag.
