3 Ways to Start Fresh in 2019

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Auburn chapter.
Happy New Year!
Starting a new year can be so exciting and can motivate you to start new habits. If you’re anything like me, you suck at making New Year’s resolutions and are even worse at sticking to them. This year, instead of making a resolution, I decided to give myself a fresh start. Here are three things I did to cleanse my life for 2019:

1. Clear your social media

The first step for me this year was going through my social media and deciding what stays and what was so last year (literally). I archived a ton of pictures and took my instagram from 150+ posts to just 22 pictures! It was so much nicer to look at a page where everything went together and had a uniform theme. Now when I post, I use the same filters and editing styles so all my posts flow. It was a nice change to my page and made things feel less cluttered.

2. Clean out your closet

This was exhausting… but so worth it! You’d be surprised how many things in your closet you don’t use or wear. I cleared out almost everything and donated it all. Now my closet is clean and ready for all the items my shopaholic alter ego buys.

3. Organize everything

This step was super simple. Finding ways to organize everything in your room, backpack, or even folders on your laptop can be so satisfying and a great way to start the new year. Take a day to organize your life and you’ll be ready for everything 2019 has in store for you.
