Why You Should Roadtrip for Spring Break

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at ASU chapter.

Spring break is the week for all sorts of fun! It’s almost like you’re expected to fly to some tropical destination and party on the beach. However, you don’t have to do that! At least once in your college career, you should take a roadtrip with your friends during Spring break. Here’s why:

Road trips are fun!

With the right people, road trips are a blast. Loud music, yummy snacks, the open road! Even though it may seem like you’re crammed into a car, when you’re singing along to music, it definitely doesn’t seem like a big deal.

You can see the country.

When you plan the right route, you can see so many awesome landmarks and cities! There are so many beautiful places to see, they’re just waiting for you to find them! Make sure you plan our our trip to see the most of the places you’ll be driving through.

Flying is expensive.

Flying is frickin’ expensive and right now gas isn’t, relatively. Even if you don’t roadtrip the whole break, you’ll see much more of the country if you decide to dive rather than fly. Another positive: you’re not crammed on the roomless seats next to someone you don’t even know.

You don’t have to have a destination in mind!

You don’t have to have a destination when you roadtrip. Your destination could be home for all it matters! After all, it’s not about the destination, not the journey.

Roadtrips may seen like the “old days” way of traveling, but it actually is really fun. You should definitely take that experience at least once in your college career, before spring break is the thing of the past for you. So grab some of your best frends and one of their cars, fill up the tank and the snacks and get out on the road for spring break! I hope you find some awesome and memorable places!
