September was great; we went to our first football game, we all dropped two dress sizes because we were sweating so much and we more or less have our routines down. Here are a few things I loved having during September.

So you can find these babies at the P.O.D. Market in the MU, and they are amaaaaziiiing. First off, they’re organic. That means no crazy mutant wheat was used to make them. Second, even though they are in the health section of the store, they taste pretty good. They are chocolate and vanilla, so if you don’t like one of those two, I guess you could just eat around that square. It’s a win-win situation, go buy them.

Next up is the book You Had Me At Woof by Julie Klam. I got this book at a Goodwill, because who could resist that cute face? It’s about a woman named Julie, (who knew, right?), who fosters boxers until they can find their homes through the shelter she volunteers for. Julie is hilarious and this book helped distract me from how much I missed home. It also made me cry a lot, but it is about dogs so that’s no surprise. I usually read books pretty fast once they grab my attention, so I finished this in about a week.

Now, my favorite movie of the month. Charade is hilarious and I watch it constantly. It’s a murder mystery movie that is unlike any other movie in that genre that I have ever seen. Audrey Hepburn plays Regina Lambert, a woman who’s married to a rich husband and wears gorgeous hats. However, when she comes back to vacation to find out her husband was killed (come on it’s a murder mystery I’m not spoiling anything) Regina needs to team up with Peter to find out who did it. There’s also a great deal about a stolen amount of money. And why does Peter keep changing his name? Anyway, definitely check it out. Last I checked, it was on Netflix. And I know you all have access to that so there aren’t any excuses.

Ok we’re back to food. Sorry, but these things are so freaking good. I found these at the P.O.D. Market too, but I haven’t seen them there again. However, I found a bigger bag at Tempe Farmers Market. Thank God. Anyway they are so freaking good for you and taste amazing so you can’t complain. And if you’re like me and aren’t constantly eating your recommended dose of veggies, these are perfect because they’re packed full! Veggie Straws or Veggie Sticks, it doesn’t matter buy them and eat them because they’re amazing. I’m very biased, I know, but I’m telling you guys these things for a reason!

This is my favorite glue stick. I’m kidding it’s Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Swivel Stick lip balm. I got this courtesy of my Her Campus Survival Kit, but I did some research and you can definitely get it at Walmart. I’m not sure if the one on campus has it, but their website does. Anyway, this thing is amazing. One, it doesn’t taste horrible like most good things do because it has cocoa butter in it. Two, it looks like a glue stick so no one will steal it. Three, my lips are so freaking soft I don’t even know what to do with them anymore. And it’s HUGE so I won’t run out for like, ten years!

Last but not least is another beauty item. Marshalls is selling these sweet makeup remover wipes that make your face so soft you will think that you somehow got a face mask at a resort spa and don’t remember. Now I know I’m the weird one who lives in the only dorms on campus that have community bathrooms, but hear me out. Washing my face always ends up with me covered in water, so I only ever do it in the shower because I’m already covered in water that way. Maybe I’m doing it wrong. I’ve used face wipes before, and they are tiny little baby wipes that couldn’t even get lipstick off. But these Blum wipes are huge, and really thick. I can go over my face twice or more and they’re still wet, it’s like witch magic. They don’t smell like makeup remover either, they smell like grapes. So, go to Marshalls and pick these up.

The last thing I’m leaving you guys with is a playlist of my favorite songs. Happy October!

1.     Give You Me – Grow and Twine

2.     Looking Too Closely – Fink

3.     Welcome Home – Radical Face

4.     3×5 – John Mayer

5.     Wants What it Wants – Andrew Belle

Who Am I? I am a woman that God made, sustains, and loves. I am a woman stumbling in the darkness of this world, blinded by my anxiety and fear. I am tripping over flat ground and running into walls society has built for me because I am an introvert who needs to come out of the shell I feel perfectly fine in. I am a college student alone in a state I am unfamiliar with, thrown into this strange world of responsibility without my parents to guide me. I am a child, wide eyed and innocent, constantly asking the same questions over and over because my mind doesn't understand. I am Veronica, a woman in love with her God and the red rocks of the deserts and the mountain air he created.
