Meet Téa Price! The journalism freshman at Arizona State University evident pride in her European heritage shines through when she throws in British vernacular in conversation. With the looks of a ’60s fashion icon and the intelligent responses that indicate an old soul, this Midwestern girl proved to be a wonderful and interesting interview subject.

Why she’s here: I’m majoring in journalism with a specialization in print journalism. I hope to do investigative reporting. “The Guardian” would be a dream job!

Favorite musicians: I am a huge John Mayer fan, because I really like his sound. I like Ellie Goulding. I think she’s really unique. And I would have to say Roo Panes. As a songwriter, I think he’s really talented, and when he opens his mouth and sings he has a very beautiful baritone voice.

Hobbies: I like writing, I love to read and take pictures. Anything artsy, like sketching, too! The number one thing is traveling. I like exploring and discovering new things.

Favorite country she’s visited: My favorite place to go to is either England or Italy. I have family and friends there. Anywhere in Europe is welcoming to me.

Country she’d like to go to: I really want to go to New Zealand. It’s on my bucket list of things to do before I die.

Favorite food: Oh, you got me! I really love a good pasta with my mom’s tomato sauce. Just simple.

Three people she’d like to eat dinner with: Emma Watson, because I adore her and I think we could have great conversations.; Jimmy Stewart, because I think he’s extremely talented; Walter Cronkite, our namesake for our school, he would be fascinating to talk to.

Favorite app on her phone: Instagram, because I take a lot of pictures.

If she wasn’t a journalist: I would probably want to do something with public relations. I really like promoting people I’m invested in. It’s a passion of mine.

Musical talents: I play the piano by ear. My mum’s a violinist and my dad’s a cellist, parents gave me a few odd lessons.

Favorite books: I love fiction and historical fiction. It’s based on the truth and they make up a whole story.

Guilty pleasure: My guilty pleasure would be lying in the sun with a cup of cup of gelato and knowing I have work to do but not caring.

What she misses from the ’90s: I miss the old kids’ television shows. Also, when I was little, on BBC, we used to watch “As Time Goes By,” and “Fawlty Towers,” which is my favorite!

If she could teach a college course: A Human Event like course, but I would choose different works. (note: Human Event is an honors course at ASU)

Favorite fashion brand: Burberry. I would love to talk to the creative director.

Favorite radio station: I love NPR or BBC Radio 1.

Summer pastime she enjoys the most: Spending time at my best friend’s house. She lives two minutes from the lake and lives in a tennis court and a field. When we got older, we would just walk by ourselves. There is a lighthouse and a pier, and we would have a picnic. I had a good childhood with her, and we have been best friends since we were four or five.

Téa, on the right, and her best friend that she mentions in the Q&A!

If she had a time machine: I wouldn’t go back in time. I am where I am, and I wouldn’t want to change anything

Advice to younger self: Don’t expect people to be as nice as you’d like. There are going to people who are fake and will hurt you, and they don’t have good intentions. Also, you can’t be friends with everyone. You just have to move on in life and ignore those who bring you down. If anything, pity those who try and tear people down.
