Five musical acts took the stage at Civic Space Park Wednesday for the opportunity to open for Hunter Hayes at Devilpalooza. The Programming and Activities Board organized the event and gave attendees food from Raising Cane’s, Fuzzy’s Taco Shop and Fractured Prune. The groups that performed were IAMWE, Weslynn, Luxxe and The Unrelated, as well as soloist Matt Kahler. Students voted for their two favorite bands, IAMWE and Luxxe, to represent the Downtown Phoenix campus at the finals on February 4 at the MU Stage North in Tempe. The Battle of the Bands Finale will begin at 6 p.m, and the winner will open for Hunter Hayes at Devilpalooza on February 26 at 6 p.m. at the Tempe SDFC fields.
