8 Fun and Festive Things for an AZ College Gal to do During the Fall

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at ASU chapter.
  1. Go to a pumpkin patch.

A pumpkin patch is a perfect way to enjoy the cooler weather, and also get some super great Insta pics. If you don’t know where to look, dont worry. Here is a great pumpkin patch, and even a corn maze. Embrace your inner child and have a blast.

We recommend the Tolmachodd haunted corn maze and pumpkin patch!

      2. Try out a haunted house.

This is not for the weak of heart. I still haven’t mustered up the courage to go through one myself but if you’re down for a scare it’s a great way to really feel the Halloween spirit. There are all different levels of haunted attractions, so make sure to pick one that is right for you.

       3. Get Artsy.

Fall is a prime time to get to know your inner Pinterest guru. Here are some ideas of some super fun (super cute) crafts that will really show your seasonal spirit.

      4. Halloween movie night.

Whether you’re into the spooky or the silly, there are tons of halloween movies out there. Grab some girl friends, a boyfriend or even just some hall mates and get in the spirit. Some of my recommendations are Halloween Town, Hocus Pocus, Casper the Friendly Ghost and (if you’re in the mood for a horror flick) Halloween. Don’t forget the popcorn!

       5. Festive snacks

Make use of those dorm kitchens besides just for Easy-Mac.

      6. Take a road trip to Arizona’s Halloween city.

Every year, Prescott, AZ, a town about 2 hours north of ASU, really goes all out for the season. From haunted houses, to decorations, to even historic trick-or-treating, this town has everything. Mt. Vernon street is the prime location for anyone, young or old, who wants to experience the holiday in a really great way.

     7. Stroll a farmers market.

Fall is the perfect time to go enjoy the outdoors, and what better way do do that than by exploring a farmers market.

There are a couple close by that would be a great weekend activity for you and some friends:

     8. Go to an apple orchard.

Put on your favorite sweater, a pair of leggings and make a day out of it. Apple orchards are about as fall as it can get. This is a great way to enjoy the nice weather with friends, or it would even make an uber cute, out of the normal date.

Just have some fun this fall, and enjoy the nice weather because before you know it we will all be sweating in the 110 degree misery once more.
