When it comes to makeup, I love to find new tips and tricks to add to my routine. I especially love when a makeup product has multiple uses. In this semester’s Her Campus survival kit, we received N.Y.C. City Proof 24hr Waterproof Eyeshadow in various vibrant colors from Wallstreet Bronze to Central Park Tulips. One awesome idea I recently stumbled upon was the different ways you can use eyeshadow. Gone are the days that we just apply our eyeshadow palette to our eyelids. Below are three alternative ways you can put your eyeshadow to use.

1.   A Lip Tint

Dab a little of your favorite color eyeshadow across your lips and add a little chapstick or clear gloss to set the color in. This is great because you can control the pigment you want to go for on your lips. Add more eyeshadow for a more vibrant look or less for a more sheer lippy. Warning: your actual lipsticks may get less use after trying this awesome trick.

2.   Highlighter or Blush

Bring life to your face by using a eyeshadow that is closer to your specific skin tone, beiges and browns would work great for a natural highlight. If you want to glow add more of a shimmery golden shade. Also, you can use your more colorful shadows for a blush to add color and fun to your look. All you need to do is use the correct highlighting or blush brush in your makeup kit and sweep the eyeshadow across your cheekbones and cheeks.

3.   Contour, Contour, Contour!

Altering your facial features has become the most popular makeup trend lately. Contouring is great to bring out your best features while downplaying your flaws. Depending on where you want to contour, a deep or bright eyeshadow can slim down your nose or lift up your brow bone. P.S.: Youtube is a great source on finding ways to find which contour routine would work best for each face shape.

With all your makeup and eyeshadow all over your bathroom counter you can get a little organized with this Trina purse kit from Marshalls for only 7 bucks! If you ever need to make touch ups, this is a stylish little purse to keep all of your essentials in.
