1. Padmaavat

The movie is a Hindi-language period drama based on the life of Rani Padmavati. It is about Rani Padmavati committing jauhar to protect herself from Alauddin Khilji.The movie is directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and features Deepika Padukone as Rani Padmavati, Shahid Kapoor as Raja Ratan Singh and Ranveer Singh as Alauddin Khilji.

The movie infamously faced a lot of violence and criticism from opposers. It was set to release on 1st December 2017, but due to massive riots from Right-wing Hindu groups the movie will now release this January.The movie is India’s first movie to be shown in IMAX 3D.

2. Padman

 

Padman is a biographical Indian film based on the real life of Arunachalam Muruganatham, the man who revolutionised menstrual hygiene in Tamil Nadu and rural India.The movie is also inspired by a chapter in Twinkle Khanna’s book, The Legend of Lakshmi Prasad and is a must watch for all Akshay Kumar fans.

The movie features three superstars (Shahrukh Khan, Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif) who have massive fan followings.
