Megan Ezell goes Vogue

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Arkansas chapter.

Although Megan Ezell has only been on campus for a few months, this freshman apparel studies major is following her dreams and making a name for herself in a big way.

Megan’s love of fashion started at a very young age.  As a child, she always insisted on choosing her own outfits and by the time she reached her teenage years, she was subscribed to multiple fashion magazines.  She would pull the inspiration for her everyday apparel from the pages of these subscriptions, with her favorite being Teen Vogue.

Although she claims her style is ever-changing, Megan describes it as having an “urban feel.”  Her current favorite accessories are her high-top Converse and graphic t-shirts.

On top of working at Belle Boutique, she also recently started her own fashion blog, www.meganezell.com.  Every week, she posts new content.  Her favorite part is styling her “outfit of the week,”  photographed by Megan Hampel Photography. This is one of her many creative outlets.

Over fall break, Megan packed her bags and headed for the Big Apple.  She was one of 500 students who was accepted into the Teen Vogue Fashion University.  She went to seminars and heard from designers, editors, models and others in the fashion industry.  Although she admits to being intimidated by the confusing subway systems and bustling city, she said it was an amazing experience.  She was particularly inspired by Kelly Wearstler’s story, who worked her way up from the bottom of the fashion industry.

“I learned that everyone starts somewhere, big or small,”  Megan said.  “Stay true to yourself and what you love doing, because it really can happen if you work hard enough.”

Megan hopes to one day become a buyer for a major department store, like Nordstrom.  She would also like to design her own graphic t-shirt and swimwear line.  To learn more about her style and fashion aspirations, feel free to check out her blog every week for new posts.
