Uggs and Shorts; A fashion NO-NO!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Arizona chapter.

Let’s talk about Uggs.  I love them, you love them, and celebrities love them.  Who wouldn’t love them?  Uggs make it fashionably acceptable to walk around feeling like your feet are wrapped up in clouds.  This is something many designers have attempted, but ultimately failed, ended up with a result like Crocks.  Ouch.
But do you know what there IS something wrong with?  Uggs and shorts.  Yes, I know that we live in the desert and you want to be comfy and casual, all the while keeping yourself from having heat stroke but this is not the way to do it.  Never in my life have I found myself getting up in the morning, picking out a cute summery shirt that is perfect for the desert’s hot hot heat, finding some cute shorts that will be sure to keep my legs cool all day long, and the…reaching for my Uggs?  Am I missing something?
The combination ultimately makes you look like one of two things:

1)   An EXTREMELY confused Eskimo

Or

2)   A Britney Spears circa early 2000’s wannabe (and unless your pairing these shorts and Uggs with a badly shaved head and mental breakdown, this just is not working for you)

I mean, come on girls, it is not even flattering.  The extra bulk added to your ankles paired with the undoubtedly tight and booty-bearing shorts bring extra attention to the unwanted flab that may be lurking somewhere on your stems.
So, unless your lounging around your home in your PJs or taking an uncomfortably long flight, please save me from having to write another rant about this next week and leave your shorts and Uggs blissfully divorced and separated in your closet.
