Simple Bronze Eye Shadow Tutorial

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Arizona chapter.

The semester is winding down and it’s time to pay more attention to exams and lessons than to makeup. But let’s face it. Some girls just can’t leave home without a little bit of a boost to their confidence. So here’s a simple, wearable eye shadow look.

STEP 1)

On primed eyes, place a slightly shimmery gold color on the lid. Stick to more yellow-based tones for this step.

STEP 2)

With a blending brush, use windshield wiper motions to place a penny/copper colored eye shadow in the crease and outer-v. Be sure to blend as you go.

STEP 3)

With the same blending brush, darken the copper color with a deep reddish brown, matte eye shadow. This will really start giving some dimension to your lids.

STEP 4)

Using a small pencil brush, place a matte black color in the outer corners of your eyes.

STEP 5)

Blend well! The black will look strange at first but once it’s blended out it will really make eyes pop.

STEP 6)

With whatever brush you choose, use a  matte flesh toned color close to or a bit lighter than your skin. Use this color to highlight your brow-bone and blend out any harsh edges.

STEP 7)

Line your upper lash line with a black gel or liquid eyeliner. The line should be thick and crisp with a tiny bit of a wing at the end. Be sure you line as close to your lash line as possible, not leaving any skin between your lashes peeking through.

STEP 8)

To ensure your lash line looks as full and thick as possible, use a waterproof pencil eyeliner on your tight line.

STEP 9)

Curl lashes

STEP 10)

Apply a volumizing mascara and you’re done!
