Giggle Giggle All The Way Home

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Arizona chapter.

This week I treated myself to two comedic events, first the 2013 MTV Movie Awards and second, A Comedic Event with Seth Meyers. Let me just say that they were a perfect distraction from the stressful finals coming up right around the corner.

May the odds be ever in your favor if you are watching the award show now because the MTV Movie Awards varied from fat Taylor Lautner to Rebel Wilson’s Chlamydia Koala so yes it was an interesting night for everyone. I actually make a night of the MTV Movie Awards every year just because it is one of my favorite award shows and I was super excited about this one for one reason and that reason was Rebel Wilson. I am a big fan of Rebel Wilson, mostly because she is hilarious in all the movies she is in so I was expecting the most hilarious show ever. Sadly, I was disappointed because it seemed like Rebel was trying a little too hard that her jokes were extremely inappropriate and stupid. I still love her but this was not her best performance. I actually did find myself laughing at some points but confused and disturbed in other. However, last week I brought up the fact that Selena Gomez was going to perform her single “Come and Get It” at the Award Show and I would have to say that her voice isn’t that great live but I loved her costume and the dancing portion was great! Another important highlight of the show was the Hunger Games’ exclusive premier and let me just say that I am a huge fan of the Hunger Games books and movies so you would expect that watching this that I screamed and could not sit still but it was extremely amazing and I am super excited for the movie to come out in November.

A Comedic Event with Seth Meyers was the laugh that you have always needed, that laughing cramp, the laughter of laughters. This event was actually a wonderful way to spend my evening and I invited my mother, which only made it that much better. All of his jokes kept me on the edge of my seat hungry for more; there were times where I couldn’t catch my breath from laughing so much. There were a few jokes that he told that stuck with me like when he made fun of ASU; I mean what U of A student isn’t going to laugh at these jokes and he pretty much started with that so snaps to you Seth Meyer. I think my other favorite part was the Q & A and thank goodness for it because it really made Seth more human; I couldn’t believe that he was only a few rows away from me so hearing him answer questions was like getting that pinch to prove it wasn’t a dream. If you are reading this and you were there, you know what question really stood out. A girl had the balls to ask a very personal question, she walked up to her microphone and without an ounce of embarrassment she asked, “How big is you penis?” Leave it to someone at the U of A to ask this question but the hilarious comedian that Seth Meyers is, he gave his answer with his mic stand. Wink wink; good job sneaking that in there Seth Meyers, good job. Overall it was a wonderful evening and the Wildcat Events Board gets an A+ from me.

This is all I have for you this week but be sure to check in every week for new entertaining events that I have attended at the University of Arizona, new music news, new movie news and everything happening in the lives of your favorite celebrities
