Why You Should Definitely Eat Breakfast

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at App State chapter.

Breakfast. The most important meal of the day; a meal that so many college students just don’t have time for.

Now, there are multiple scientific studies to explain why breakfast is actually the most important meal of the day. Breakfast jump starts your metabolism, gives you energy and nutrients to focus on daily tasks or class and can help you maintain a healthy weight.

However, the real reason you should eat breakfast (i.e. more than a cup of coffee) is because of the gloriousness of breakfast food.

Where does one begin with the endless combinations of delicious food that are prepared into the most important meal of the day?! Eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, waffles, muffins, toast, fruit, potatoes more eggs, the possibilities are endless.  Breakfast foods can also be combined to make the grand supreme of the breakfast foods: I’m talking about you, Central supreme breakfast burrito.

Everyone skips breakfast, but we see the lines at fast food places and on campus in the morning trying to get ahold of breakfast menu items before the 10:30 a.m. “death to breakfast hour”.  Minus Bojangles, a God-send in this life for breakfast food honestly.

As Leslie Knopp would say, “Why would anybody ever eat anything besides breakfast food?” and the truest of true replies from Ron Swanson, “People are idiots, Leslie.”

Now, treat Yosef to some delicious pancakes,  eggs benedict, toast, cereal or whatever tickles your fancy on this fine Boone morning because you deserve it.

Also, eating breakfast is actually better for you than not so even a candy bar on the way to class is better than nothing.

Breakfast long and prosper, my friends.
