Need a weekend getaway? Or has the travel bug bit you, but you have to go to class/work Monday through Friday? Well, the good news is we live in a great location, near some amazing places that are easily accessible for a weekend trip.
Below are six fun and interesting cities within driving distance that would make a great weekend trip.
Asheville, NC
Only two hours away, Asheville has so much to offer. There are dozens of breweries and bars that make for a great nightlife. The Biltmore, an incredibly beautiful private estate, is a must see while there. There is great local music, art, and more of the Blue Ridge Mountains that we all love.
Brevard, NCOnly two and a half hours away, this small town city is great for the outdoors. Gorgeous waterfalls, mountain biking trails, and hiking trails. There are some great breweries in town including Oscar Blues and Brevard Brewing Company. Not to mention this great town has many famous spots from movies like “The Hunger Games.”
Wilmington, NC
What’s not to like about the beach? And how lucky are we to only be five hours away! Go for a relaxing get away and relax on the beach.
Charlotte, NC
Only two hours away, Charlotte has so much to offer. Downtown Charlotte with many bars and nightclubs. Or buy a ticket for a concert at the PNC Music Pavillion.
Atlanta, GA
Only five hours away, the capital of Georgia is a great weekend getaway! Take advantage of some great shopping, The World of Coke, attend a Braves baseball game, Six Flags, the aquarium, and a great nightlife. What’s not to like?
Nashville, TN
Surprisingly, this great city is only five and a half hours away and has so much to offer. The music scene is like no where else. The Country Music Hall of Fame, great shopping, and there are many large events held here such as the Country Music Awards. Not to mention great nightlife!
