There’s nothing like the new year to get you in the mood to freshen up your bookshelf! Nothing feels as good as curling up after the midnight fireworks, soaking in the last few days of Winter Break before we hit the ground running in January. As a self-declared book aficionado, I’ve compiled a short list of my top four most anticipated releases of 2026! As always, please make sure to research possible content warnings, and take care of yourself before, during, and after reading!

  1. Nothing Tastes as Good, by Luke Damas is expected to release March 31st, 2026. The acclaimed author of A History of Fear, which fellow author Paul Tremblay described as  “disorienting, creepy, paranoia-inducing” is back. This new story promises to be a spine-tingling new thriller about a weight loss treatment with potentially murderous side effects.
  2. Espíritu, the second book in the Cemetery Boys series by Aidan Thomas, is expected to be released Sept. 1, 2026. Julian’s story begins in the first book of the series, where he used to be a ghost. Now? He can’t stop seeing them. But Julian’s also seeing other things: shadows in the corner of his eyes, glowing eyes in the dark, and “dark spots” on people – gaping, black gashes that are somehow wrong. With the shadows growing darker, and the discovery of a gaping dark spot on his friend Luca, Julian has to decide who he wants to put his trust in, and just how far he’s willing to go to save what is his.
  3. Dear Debbie, expected Jan. 27, 2026 by critically acclaimed author Frieda McFadden. Here comes a biting, subversive thriller about what happens when women finally choose to take justice into their own hands – with killer results.
  4. And Now, Back to You, by New York Times bestselling author B.K. Borison is expected to be released Feb. 24, 2026. Two competing meteorologists are forced to find common ground in this opposites attract, When Harry Met Sally inspired romance.

2026 is looking to be quite a year for new releases. Of course, it’s still quite early in the season for a definitive list or releases for the upcoming year. I’m excited to see what other books we have to look forward to!
