‘Spring’ Into Productivity After Spring Break

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at App State chapter.

After an amazing spring break with your BFFs, going back into school mode is the last thing we have on our minds. If we’re being honest, spring break is actually evil especially if you just spent a week in paradise. Do we HAVE to go back to school? Don’t worry collegiettes, you have less than two months until the semester ends. For some of you, that means graduation is right around the corner! You might be crawling on all fours by the end of it, but you will make it. Her Campus has created a motivational guide on how to spring back into your studies after spring break!

Set goals.

Nothing feels greater than making a super long To-Do list and checking every single thing off. Making a list of things you have to achieve inspires you to complete it. Apply for jobs, finish art portfolio, complete thesis? It may seem daunting at first but when that highlighter glides across your task—ah, freedom at last!

Work ahead.

If you like to stay on top of your work, start early and get those readings and easier assignments out of the way. Then, you can focus on more important projects that will come in the final stretch of the semester. Plus, you won’t have an excuse later on when all your friends are going out for Tapp’s Taco Wednesday and maybe a little too many Coronas (if you’re 21).

Prioritize.

Many of us tend to mentally check out during the weekends and avoid any school work like the plague. As thrilling as it is to spend your entire Saturday AND Sunday binging on Netflix, finding just a few hours to knock out some work will help you out during the week to come! If you know you have to read an entire novel in one week, go ahead and knock a few hundred pages during the day. This results in extra hours during the week binging on Netflix; you can thank us later.

Make time for YOU.

With the end of any semester comes stress—in extra doses. By now we’re convinced professors have a secret meeting where they plan everything to be due the same week/day/hour. If you’ve been following our first three steps, then you need some time off to recharge and refocus. Get your nails done, indulge in a bubble bath complete with wine and candles, take advantage of the warm weather and spend a few hours outside reading that book you’ve been putting off because you’ve been too busy, or check out one of Boone’s many hiking spots. It’s important to put yourself first, and if that means putting everything on the back burner for a couple hours, maybe even a day, do it!
