“Younger” is a TV series about Liza, a recently divorced 40-year-old woman (who looks ridiculously good for her age) landing an amazing job at one of New York’s most prestigious publishing houses, making some awesome friends, and getting the hottest guy in Brooklyn. “How?” you may ask…by pretending to be in her 20’s again.
Being called “Irresitable” by US Weekly, this show is absolutely a must watch…and here are just a few reasons why.
1. Darren Star
Ring a bell to any of you “Sex and the City” fans?
The same brilliant producer that brought us Carrie, Charlotte, Miranda and Samantha now brings us a new cast to love. The women of this show are strong, hilarious and excellent representations of the modern day woman.
2. Two words…Hillary Duff.
Finally the ex-disney star is back on TV in a lead role playing Kelsey Peeters, a young publisher looking for her big break in the big apple. Also, she may be one of our only childhood idols that hasn’t completely lost her mind. Claps for you Hillary, welcome back!
3. The Wardrobe
Patricia Fields, yes, another “Sex and the City” guru. is the costume designer for the show. Fields takes a totally different approach to style in the city with this series. Think less pink tutu and more leather and blazers. The wardrobe in this show gives you an actual idea of what hip, young professionals are wearing in the workplace, and the style that the streets of Brooklyn demand.
4. You can relate.
This show so accurately depicts the everyday lives and struggles of 20-somethings. From issues at work to issues with boys, these characters just seem to get it, and some of their mistakes will make you feel a little bit better about your own life!
5. You will LOL
The wit and humor in this series will blow you away every episode. It is so real and unfiltered, something I can’t say for a lot of other shows. The chemistry between this cast is infectious, and it just works.
6. It’s still a pretty new show
Younger is only one season and 3 episodes deep so far. The series just got picked up for a third season, and I have a feeling there will be many more to follow. You will always be left wanting more from this show, but the 30-minute episodes make for an easy and fun binge.
7. It comes on TV Land
This is the last place I would expect to find mew favorite TV show…which is something I love about it. I always thought of TV Land as a “grandma network.” Not anymore folks! I have no idea how they landed this series, but it definitely brings some life to the network!
8. Nico Tortorella
If you weren’t convinced already…this is the leading male character.
And believe it or not, he seriously gets better looking every episode.
