For many of us, our greatest support system is our family. For others, it’s our friends. And, for some, it’s a mix of both. I’m fortunate enough to have a mix of both. I’ve always taken mine for granted, and with my last few weeks of college coming to an end, I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you all for being the best people out there.

College has by far been the greatest four years of my life. I’ve found the women I will call my bridesmaids – dare say if a wedding ever happens. If not, I’ve still found the women who I know I can call, no matter how many miles apart we may end up. Through the downfalls and the celebrations, I know you will always be by my side because you already have been. I find myself, now more than ever, thinking about how blessed I am to have found a home in all of you.

You made me feel worthy, you spoiled me with kindness, and taught me that it’s okay to care in a world full of people who like to pretend that they don’t. If I ever became misguided, discouraged, or down, you brushed the dirt off my knees and told me to get up and try again. You mended my broken hearts, being the best shoulders to cry on. Thank you for pushing me and making me be nothing less than extraordinary. Thank you for teaching me that I can do great things, despite nerves or lack of courage. You would never show a millimeter less than pride and support.

I am who I am because of you. I try my hardest to love unconditionally and forgive continually because of you. I try to be the person you think of me as, and strive to meet the goals you knew I could meet before I even decided I wanted to aim for them. Thanks for believing in me even when I couldn’t do the same. I love you just the same.

You are my biggest inspirations: my role models. You’ve taught me to seek out what makes me happy, to embrace my flaws, and to be my true core self. Although I’ve learned a lot from my mama, I’ve also learned a lot from you. Thank you for having an impact on my life and becoming a part of who I am. Thank you for loving me and understanding me so well (even when I’m being stubborn).

Most importantly, thank you for being you. I owe every ounce of my happiness to all of you, my support system, my soulmates.
