If you happen to wander by the dance studio in the Varsity gym often, you are likely to find an incredibly talented and dedicated dancer, Lillie Wolff.

A freshman accounting major from Burlington, NC, (also known as B-town or Borington), Lillie has been dancing for 17 years and has taken classes in lyrical, modern, jazz, tap, hip hop and her favorite, ballet. She is currently involved in the Dance Momentum club here at App, which she says has been an amazing experience thus far.

She will perform in her first show at Appalachian State on January 27 and 28. She frequently misses her studio at home because she’s spent copious amounts of time there basically her whole life. “It was definitely my second home and will continue to be for the rest of my life, many days I would spend more time at the studio than I would at home.” Lillie plans to dance for as long as she is able.

The studio is not the only place Lillie shines, she also really enjoys drawing and art. She received the art award her senior year and is very creative. In her free-time, she enjoys hiking, visits to the Humane Society, and Netflix. She is currently hooked on Grey’s Anatomy and Friends. She loves to ski and goes every winter, which is one of the reasons she chose App. Lillie is also involved with CRU and RUF which are both campus worship groups.

Lillie is very satisfied with her decision to come to App State “You just can’t beat the beautiful views and friendly people, I would not have found that at any other school”.

One of Lillie’s favorite college experiences thus far has been joining Sigma Kappa. “When I found Sigma Kappa during recruitment I knew it was home.” Her favorite part about Sigma Kappa is the amazing sisterhood as well as the awesome family she has become a part of. She is excited to continue her journey as a sorority woman throughout the next four years.

Lillie loves volunteering and serving others. She was very active with the youth group at her home church, and really enjoyed mission trips. One of her favorites was called Appalachia Service Project, ASP, that she went on every summer of high school and would repair homes for low-income families. “It’s so life changing to be able to give back to people that have so little.” Lillie plans to continue volunteering throughout her college career. Lillie was very close to her church youth group and formed life-long friendships.

Best wishes to Lillie as she continues her collegiate career and performs in her first show of the semester. If you ever go to one of her shows, she’s sure to be your favorite ballerina.
