Name: Alyssa CuddyYear: JuniorMajor: Communication Sciences and DisordersMinor: PsychologyHometown: Huntersville, NC

Q: What are your main responsibilities and duties as President of Alpha Delta Pi?A: My main responsibilities as President include overseeing 7 members of our Executive Committee, as well as every other officer and member. I lead weekly chapter and Executive committee meetings, as well as monthly meetings with our advisors.

Q: What is your favorite part about being President of your organization?A: I love, love, love being the President of Alpha Delta Pi. Although it was overwhelming at first, I love learning more about our history and feeling like I am making a positive impact within our chapter.

Q: What made you want to be apart of Alpha Delta Pi?A: I was never positive that I wanted to be in a sorority growing up. However, from the very first minute I walked into a party during recruitment, I just knew that it was something I wanted to be a part of. I felt like I could be my complete self with the girls that I now call my sisters, and that’s how I knew I was supposed to be an ADPi. I love all of my sisters, and I couldn’t picture myself anywhere else!

Q: What are your favorite activities to do in Boone?A: There are so many fun activities that you can do in Boone, it’s hard to pick just a few. However, I love getting outside and playing tennis, and going for a run at the greenway. I also love trying new restaurants, there are so many around here that we don’t have back home, so I love taking full advantage of that!

Q: What advice would you give someone who may want to run for president of their sorority in the future?A: Being President of your sorority is not easy. It comes with a lot of work and a lot of responsibility. Set aside time each day to do things that your position requires, and get it all done during that time. But, you also have to set aside time for yourself to do things like watching an episode of Scandal, or going to the gym, or eating yummy food. You have to take time for yourself, or you might go a little crazy by the end of your term! But if you stay on top of your to-do list, it can be the most fulfilling position of your sorority experience!
