Gentleman, meet Ms. Emily Bridges, the girl who will whisk your heart away with the first thing that comes out of her mouth in her sweet southern accent. You won’t be able to wipe the smile off your face because she will keep you laughing through a whole conversation.

I asked Emily what it is that she looks for in a guy, and she said she looks for someone who is funny, outgoing, smart, confident, adventurous, and has a good personality.

If you are lucky enough to catch her, you won’t be sitting around for long. She’ll be taking you hiking, running, to the beach or lake, to watch the sunset, or stargazing. And you’ll know you’ve caught her when she calls you at 2 a.m. to go drive around the parkway.

When I asked her what her ideal date would be, she imagined a day of travel and luxury. “I would love to be whisked away on a private jet, that’s serving champagne the whole way, complimentary champagne of course, to Italy. Oh, and with a quick layover in Paris to pick up an outfit.”

But more realistically, she said she would love to be taken on a date somewhere on the parkway.  If the dates going well you can take her to one of her three favorite restaurants in town (because she couldn’t pick just one): Dos, Melanie’s, or Capones. And to finish off the night taking her to Harris Teeter to pick up a desert from the bakery.

Now that you all want to meet her, you can likely find her outside doing her favorite activities and taking VSCO pictures, at the library, or at a Pike house. Good luck fellow Mountaineers.

Taylor is a senior at Appalachian State University studying Exercise Science with a concentration in clinical physiology. She has asperations of becoming an Occupational Therapist and working to rehabilitate people with disabilities. She enjoys the outdoors, adventures, and traveling.
