Two years ago, Kelly Palmer decided to use her writing talents to share her passion for fashion. She started her blog “Delightfully Du Jour” which means: what is popular, fashionable, or prominent at a particular time. Since starting the fashion blog two years ago, Palmer has expanded her focus to travelling and food. Her blog posts provide insight on how to lead a happy and healthy lifestyle!
“My main goal out of all is to make my readers feel more confident in every aspect of their lives,” Palmer said. “I truly believe that when you have organization, routine, convenience, the perfect red lipstick, and a great pair of shoes, you can conquer anything.”
Palmer’s family has been visiting Boone since she was an infant, and she has always loved the campus and Appalachian State University’s fashion program. She wanted to go into the public relations side of fashion so she chose this as her major. Palmer shares her talents through her involvement on campus. Not only is she the Vice President and PR Chair of the Appalachian Apparel Association, she also works on the public relations for Panorama. Panorama is an AppSpeaks event based off of Ted Talks. CollegeFashionista is where Palmer completed an internship that she says was truly a learning experience.
In the future, Palmer would love to freelance through her blog and eventually open her own business. Until then, she plans on going to graduate school and working with a media or event planning company. In her spare time, Palmer enjoys walking and playing with her pup as well as reading magazines such as StyleWatch, InStyle and Vogue.
