How To Effortlessly Look Put Together

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at App State chapter.

With finals in just under two months, many of us are busy with projects, papers, and other obligations. After long nights in the library, multiple cups of coffee, and little sleep, sometimes the last thing we want to do is put any effort toward our appearance. At that point, you could care less if you are seen in public wearing your prom sweatpants and last night’s makeup. However, what some people don’t realize is that your attitude and performance is often times reflected through your worn down appearance. Don’t have the time or energy to put together a fabulous outfit? Not a problem. With these helpful tips, you’ll not only fool everyone into thinking you did in fact get more than three hours of sleep, but you’ll also be able to hide those (not-so-designer) bags under your eyes.

  1. Invest in a good headband.

A good headband will allow you to add some personal style to your go-to Nike shorts and over sized T-shirt look. Even if you decide to throw your hair on the top of your head in a messy bun (something we all do at one point or another), adding a headband will make you look just a little bit more put together. If you’re tired of the boring headbands from Walgreens that every other girl owns, then try out Farmer’s Hardware selection. They carry dozens of trendy headbands ranging from eight to thirteen dollars.

  1. Use a curling wand.

A one-inch curling wand works miracles on bed heads. Curling your hair sounds time consuming and unnecessary on a morning where you are running low on time, but running a curling wand through your hair can give you a beach wavy look in under ten minutes; a look that is sure to hide the fact that you overslept and rolled out of bed.

  1. Wear sunglasses.

Simply, they look good on just about everybody. Buy a pair.

  1. Use good mascara.

Good quality mascara gives you a natural, pretty look in under ten seconds. If you do one thing in the morning, apply a layer of mascara. It is easy, quick, simple, and it will add some liveliness to your eyes.

  1. Put on earrings.

You do not need obnoxious, dangly earrings in broad daylight. Instead, throw on some simple studs and you will instantly look more poised while adding your own personal style to the outfit you (may or may not have) worn earlier in the week.
