The Five Accounts You Should Follow On Twitter

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at App State chapter.

Nowadays, if you have a Twitter account, then you probably follow a wide variety of people. You might use Twitter as a way to keep up with people, or maybe to follow celebrity accounts, or maybe even to hear the latest breaking news. No matter what you use Twitter for, everyone almost always ends up following:

The Drama Queen

She frequently tweets subliminal messages and she is fluent in Taylor Swift lyrics. There always seems to be something dramatic going on in her life, but she never comes out and says it. Instead, she floods timelines and lets everyone knows how “so done” she is this time. Good luck with everything, girl.

The Proud Athletes

These are the girls that only tweet about how many miles they ran with their workout device. Their tweets are those automated messages that come directly from their device that records their record (i.e “I ran 5.4 miles with my @mapmyrun. Check out my route in *insert city*”). More times than not, these tweets pop up on the most unproductive times of the week (Saturday morning, all day Sunday, etc.) and you’re probably reading the tweet while in bed with Netflix. Some people may think these girls are obnoxious for boasting about their physical activity, but props to these girls for their level of productivity.

The Anonymous Accounts

These accounts are usually the realest accounts because they speak the truth. There is no need for proper etiquette, and political incorrectness is a given. There are thousands of anonymous accounts that seem to have gotten popular overnight. Everyone has their go-to anonymous account if they ever need a good laugh.

The Attention Seekers

These are the girls that always tweet about “how awesome last night was,” or how they’re feeling the effects of their awesome night the next morning. It seems like they want to tell the world how much fun their lives are.

The Random Funny Guy

He’s probably the guy that’s shy and reserved in real life, but on social media he’s Dave Chapelle. These guys are the best people to follow because they have no idea how funny they are, so they aren’t cocky and obnoxious about it.
