Everything You Need to Know About the 2016 AMA's

The 43rd annual American Music Awards will be on November 20, and this year the competition is tight. There are so many amazing nominees this year that it’s hard to know who to vote for.

It is an amazing year for Drake and Rihanna. Drake is on top with 13 nominations, setting a new record for the most AMA nominations at a single time. This includes ten individual nominations, including Artist of the Year. Drake has also collaborated with Rihanna on her hit song “Work,” which has landed him three nominations.

Rihanna herself is in second place with seven nominations, three of which she shares with Drake for “Work." Like Drake, Rihanna is also nominated for Artist of the Year.   For Artist of the Year, Rihanna and Drake are nominated along with Adele, Beyoncé, Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez, Ariana Grande, Twenty One Pilots, and Carrie Underwood. If Justin Bieber takes home the win this year, he will tie with Taylor Swift for the most times winning Artist of the Year (three each). The last two years, One Direction has taken home the win, however due to their split back in March, they did not receive a nomination this year.

Notable mentions are: Madonna, who still has game and is nominated for Tour of the Year, Janet Jackson who is nominated for Favorite Female Artist- Soul/R&B, and DNCE, who is favored to win New Artist of the Year.

With all of the amazing talent this year, it will be so hard to decide who to vote for. You can vote for who you want to win by going to http://www.theamas.com/nominees/2016-nominees/

Be sure to tune into ABC on Sunday, November 20 to see who wins in each category!
