The movie Malignant follows the character of Madison, who was in an abusive relationship that eventually came to an end one day by a monster exterminating her partner. Madison suddenly wakes up and starts to have visions of people getting killed as if she were in the scene. Soon these visions become a reality and she starts to put together the puzzle pieces of her past and how it relates to the recent murders.

The Descent protagonist is a mother who recently suffered severe trauma and is invited by her best friends to go on a caving expedition to heal her grief. As her group of friends explore the cave, they are not able to get out. As they try to find an exit, they find strange drawings on the walls and bones around them, realizing there is something in the cave with them!
This has action, friendship, and betrayal. You get to learn more about characters and their true colors of who they are and you’ll question, “Are they truly friends?”

Candyman focuses on Helen Lyle, a student researching a thesis about myths and legends who wants to learn more about the famous legend of the Candyman. The Babadook revolves around a single mother, named Amelia, and her son who deals with disturbing dreams that are affecting their social lives. As they both try to navigate a normal life, they come across a book called “Mister Babadook” in their house and start to experience paranoia when coming across the book’s creature called the Babadook. They both have to work together despite their differences to overcome this horrifying creature.
The story may not sound too terrifying but it’s very suspenseful and dwells on the supernatural. This is a mature and psychological film that dives into mental illness. The movie is creative and symbolic in how it represents depression and I think it’s a great film to watch rather than just getting scared!
