Ever found that makeup you spent FOREVER applying is smeared across your face by the end of a particularly chaotic night out?  No worries, that used to be my Saturday night ritual.  Through some trial and error, however, I have figured out some tips that can help save my fellow collegiettes™ from a late-night makeup nightmare.
1. A Setting Spray
Powder is so last decade! Try something like Urban Decay’s All Nighter Long-Lasting Setting Spray.  It will keep your base in place and the oil at bay.  Through the company’s own research “75.7% of customers said makeup looked as good at end of the day as at the beginning of the day.”  Perfect if you’re going to try and brave an over-crowded night at the Hockey Box!
2. Waterproof Mascara
It can leave your lashes a little crunchier than normal mascara, but trust me, it’s worth it not to have those pesky racoon eyes! Make sure to curl your eyelashes so the heavier formula won’t weigh them down.
3. Powder over Pencil
If your favorite eyeliner (or let’s be honest, the one that’s cheapest at CVS) doesn’t come in waterproof, layer some black eyeshadow over it to set the cream consistency. That way the pencil won’t spread onto your eye-lid, or worse, under your eyes! (If you are in the market for a waterproof eyeliner and don’t mind the splurge, Make Up For Ever do a great one).
4. Eyeshadow Base
Tired of creasing eyeshadow? Try a base! NYX offers a cheap option in three colors: white, white pearl, and skin-tone (for darker skin tones, MAC does a wider range of colors). Â These products not only keep your eyeshadow put, but can add vibrancy to bright colors!
5. Lip Stains
Having to re-apply lipstick or lip gloss isn’t exactly my idea of a fun night. Try a stain instead! It gives you the same effect as a lipstick with the added bonus it won’t smear your date’s lips either!  Try Revlon Just-Bitten for a quick natural or bold lip.
