Frozen Woman Mannequin Tricks New York Police

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Amherst chapter.

According to BBC, Hudson, New York Police received a call from an “upset” woman claiming there was an elderly woman frozen to death in a car.  With temperatues below freezing, police acted quickly to break the car window.

As it turn out, what would’ve been a heroic event, was their worst mistake.  The elderly woman was actually a mannequin!  Needless to say, the driver of the car was very upset to find smashed windows and had a few choice words for the sergeant.

According to BBC, one officer was quoted as saying,  “Just to clear the record, all citizens of Hudson should be put on notice that if you park your locked vehicle on the street on a sub-zero night with a life-size realistic mannequin seated in it… we will break your window.”

So if you’re having a bad day, just remember, the Hudson police department had it much worse.
