This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Amherst chapter and does not reflect the views of Her Campus.

Jonny Yau ’16 was nominated by three of his peers, all students in classes below him, to be Campus Profile. He has touched many lives at Amherst and spreads laughter and wisdom wherever he goes. We are happy to have him as this week’s Campus Profile.

Tell me about where are you from:

Born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii. 808 state!

How does the weather at Amherst compare to the weather back home?:

I mean do I really have to explain myself?

Why did you choose to attend Amherst?:

Honestly, they showed me a room in Charles Pratt and I knew I wanted to live there (I didn’t end up living in Chuck Pratt though but #south4lyf)

What are you interested in both academically and leisurely?:

I’m an ENFP and we’re very people-oriented, which probably explains why I’m a psych major. But other than that, I love talking to people and causing a scene when I walk into the room.

What are your plans for the rest of your time at Amherst and beyond:

Eat, drink (non-alcoholic drinks), and be merry.

If you could make one change to the world, playful or serious, what would it be?:

Erase all traces of my running photo, but it’s gotten too many likes so I need to keep it for my self confidence

What’s something you’ve always wanted to say but never got the chance to say it?:

I’ve said all I needed to say. I’m pretty loud and unfiltered and that’s gotten me into a lot of trouble LOL.
