Tell me about where are you from: Central Florida (not Miami)
Â
How does the weather at Amherst compare to the weather back home?: I strongly dislike seasons, and I miss the endless summer of Florida immensely, humidity and all.
Â
Why did you choose to attend Amherst?: I applied early decision after coming for DIVOH. I was pretty sold after that weekend, since everyone seemed really smart and down-to-earth. I was so impressed when I sat in on a class and the professor invited me to speak.
Â
What’s are you interested in both academically and leisurely?: Academically, anything anthropological or Eas Asia-related (guess what my majors are). I love that anthropology is a discipline based on challenging our assumptions about the way the world works and how humans should/do operate within it. Leisurely, I like music, movies, cooking, and pretending I play soccer.
Â
What’s are you passionate about the most?: Education and mentorship. I think we all need to form a philosphy on how we wish to conduct our lives, and (re)forming that vision and living it out it is a constant process of learning, re-learning, and un-learning that is very social.
Â
What are your plans for the rest of your time at Amherst and beyond: I plan on finishing my thesis and enjoying my relationships on campus until graduation. After Amherst, I plan to get a corgi and live happily with it in a two-bedroom loft apartment in the city.
Â
If you could make one change to the world, playful or serious, what would it be?: The current neoliberal capitalist world system would be replaced with a more localized system which does not allow the majority of the world’s wealth to be controlled by an elite class.
Â
What’s something you’ve always wanted to say but never got the chance to say it?:  I usually say what I want.
