YouTube is quickly becoming one of the internet’s biggest media platforms, with thousands of videos being uploaded every minute. The types of content are endless: math tutorials, music video parodies, sketch comedy and vlogs. That being said, beauty and fashion videos have a huge presence on YouTube. In fact, some of the highest grossing YouTubers produce high quality fashion and beauty content. Companies are practically throwing collaboration offers at these YouTubers, knowing that the audience they will reach is unlike any other. With more and more people starting channels, YouTube is a great place to go for fashion inspiration. There are endless amounts of clothing hauls and lookbooks, no matter what your style is. But with so much content being uploaded, it can be hard to find YouTubers you can really connect with. Below are five of our favorite style icons on YouTube:
1. Jenn Im (Clothes Encounters)
Clocking in at around 1 million subscribers, this Korean-American beauty guru will have you hooked with her bubbly, easy-going personality. She’s collaborated with brands like Thea by Thara, Threadsence and SK-II. Jenn recently travelled to Bangkok for Digital Fashion Week, and has tons of videos on her channel that document her personal style. Jen also offers girls advice about what she would wear in different situations. Often found rocking a pair of sky-high heels, Jen always tries to instill confidence in her viewers by telling them that they should wear whatever they want, regardless of what others think. Jen is not afraid to take risks and encourages her viewers to do the same.
2. Maddi Bragg (madisenrosebeauty1)
Maddi, also known as madisenrosebeauty1, is one of YouTuber’s younger Beauty Gurus. At only 16 years old, she has almost 800,000 subscribers. Maddi’s videos all have an aura of confidence and self-assurance about them, which makes her that much more fun to watch. Did we mention she has an adorable husky that always seems to appear in her videos? Maddi’s style is the perfect mix of classic and grunge, and she always manages to look put together with her signature winged eyeliner.
3. Claudia Sulewski (BeyondBeautyStar)
19-year old Claudia Sulewski has over 1 million subscribers and is Teen Vogue’s first-ever YouTube host. Her style is the perfect mix of girly and edgy, and she can often be seen in a leather jacket and a crop top. Claudia’s videos are especially fun to watch because of her amazing editing skills-something that she has recieved a lot of praise for. Her favorite brands include Nasty Gal, MinkPink and TopShop. Claudia always stresses the importance of just having fun with fashion to all her viewers.
4. Claire Marshall (HeyClaire)
This former MAC makeup artist and Urban Outfittesr employee racks up about 700,000 subscribers. Claire’s personal style goes hand-in-hand with her personality; she’s laidback, easy-going and sticks to what she knows. She always talks to her viewers about the importance of basics, telling them that they can create almost any outfit with some form of a white t-shirt, jeans, a cute jacket and a great pair of boots or heels. Claire herself can often be found in either a ripped tee or distressed pair of jeans (cut-offs included), and often says that comfort is key.
5. Lexi A.N (SoTotallyVlog)
This London-based YouTuber is known for her longer, more vlog-type videos. Alexia, more commonly reffered to as Lexi, has a personal style that is the perfect combination of high-end and high-street. She mixes Topshop with vintage Chanel, Urban Outfitters with Acne Studios and Hermès with Primark (the British version of Forever 21). A lover of all-things Louboutin, Lexi spends a lot of time in London as well as Miami, so she does show a lot of different brands.
