Why These Four Expensive Athleisure Brands Are Worth Every Penny

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at American chapter.

Millennials love working out. Even more, they love the clothes they work out in. Bringing active attire into our everyday fashion is formally known as athleisure. Athleisure isn’t like any other fashion trend out there: it’s a lifestyle that people live by. Some of athleisure’s biggest fans include A-list celebrities Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner. As we all know, athleisure wear can get expensive especially for the brands listed below. But who cares? We spend our money on it anyway because it’s worth it!

1. Tory Sport

Tory Sport is a rather new line, launching in 2015. However, it is very popular with it’s vibrant color athleisure wear. It was a surprise that the couture fashion brand decided to release an active wear and athleisure line, but that hasn’t stopped us from loving it! While it is cute, it is also expensive. Leggings range from $85-$150 and sport bras range from $60-$115. So why are spending so much money on these items? Tory Burch designed a solid and well-known brand who created a line that is parallel with people’s active lives. Her leggings contain knitting technology with body mapping to allow support, compression, and breathability making them perfect to wear to activities like pilates and/or barre.

2. Lululemon

We all know and love Lululemon. They’re known for their amazingly diverse legging selections and cool patterns. It goes without saying that their infamous leggings are quite the money spender ranging in prices from $98-$148. How come we still spend so much money on them then? According to the Huffington Post, Lululemon was one of the first brands to start incorporating athleisure wear into everyday lifestyle fashion. Women were fascinated with how good athleisure looked in both active and daily activities, thus falling in love with the expensive company.

3. Aday

At Aday, leggings range from $85-$145. Aday especially tries to incorporate regular fashion trends with athletic fashion trends with clothing items like a boss collared shirt that could be worn to work or to the gym. Their mission for their clothing is to be sustainable, seasonless, and technical, allowing anyone to rock the athleisure fashion. Aday especially incorporates athleisure and work attire together by allowing it to look professional while maintaining practicality.

4. Sweaty Betty

Sweaty Betty, a British brand was created by founder Tamara Hill-Norton who believed there was no brand that combined fitness, fashion and adventure. Sweaty Betty’s leggings range from $70-$135. The brand’s purpose is to empower women and make them feel confident in what they’re doing and what they’re wearing. Hill-Norton was surprised by the lack of women’s active wear when she created the brand and wanted to bring in colors and patterns that no woman would get bored with. The brand is chic and classy without being dull.
