What to Expect From Drake’s “Views From The 6”

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at American chapter.

“Myself and 40 have been trying to craft a life soundtrack – a soundtrack for our city,” Drake told OVO Sound Radio about his new album “Views from the 6” which drops April 29.

The 29th can’t come soon enough for fans who are expecting nothing less than perfection from Drizzy. If the songs “One Dance” and “Summer Sixteen” and “Pop Style” are any indication of what this new album will be like, rest assured it will be fire. Drake’s new sound, on “One Dance” sounds like he took some pointers from Rihanna on “Work.” “Summer Sixteen” is a track that hits hone for Drake and Toronto, which is most likely what we’ll see a lot of on the upcoming album. “Pop Style” features Jay Z and Kanye, so we’re curious what better songs could Drake have up his sleeve.

Besides Jay and Ye, we can expect to hear from Jamaican artist Popcaan, Wizkid and Kyla, as well as rumors of collaborations with Beyoncé and Willow Smith. *fingers crossed*

Fans are hoping Aubrey will give us a mix of songs that make us dance, some heavy hip-hop, and maybe some more emotional tracks #TBTtoTakeCare. The 6 God released a trailer for the new album that has us craving it.

How cute was young Aubrey dancing? And did you see Drake’s mom looking beautiful?

Our man has come a long way. Drake’s past albums have all had different vibes. The difference in sound from his first mixtapes “Room for Improvement” and “Comeback Season” to the sound of “If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late” and “What a Time to be Alive” is truly amazing. He went from singing “Find Your Love” to having a bigger fan base than Kanye, and he’s earned it. Needless to say, fans are proud of Drizzy and can’t wait to support “Views From The 6” and hopefully his next tour!

Until April 29, good luck to all the true fans out there!
