Michelle Obama: some call her the next Jackie O., and others call her a fashion icon. Since her husband Barack Obama took office, the first lady has made some of the smartest and most elegant fashion choices of this century. A role model for children, our country and first ladies after her, she rarely commits a fashion “don’t.” Here are some of the best outfits since her husband’s presidential inauguration.
Congressional Black Caucus
A floor length black satin gown by Michael Kors, the asymmetrical neckline and matching silver earrings come together for a perfect outfit. The signature doe-eyes and coiffed hair make her best assets the best accessory.
New York Arrival
Who doesn’t love a Diane von Furstenberg dress? Michelle Obama arrived in the Big Apple in June of this year (with a day full of campaign events and fundraisers ahead of her) faulting one of the best sundresses I’ve ever seen. The pearls and lilac cardigan compete the look so elegantly. The yellow shoes add the perfect touch!
Western Swing
Maybe I am just going through a love of collars phase, but this navy dress is perfectly cut for Michelle’s body. Worn in Albuquerque, New Mexico while on a campaign tour, the black-studded belt and black tirm top it off perfectly. Now I just want to see the shoes!
White House Correspondants Dinner
Worn on an evening in our school’s home, this multi-colored floral A-line dress is perfect for the occassion. Made by one of Michelle Obama’s favorite evening wear deisgners Naeem Khan, this gown blends together just the right amount of colors for the spotlight.
