Who doesn’t love a good movie set in the roaring twenties? A great movie in that category would be The Great Gatsby, which is coming out in its most modern adaptation on May 10th! The most famous version of the book by F. Scott Fitzgerald was the 1974 film by Jack Clayton, starring Robert Redford as Gatsby, Mia Farrow as Daisy Buchanan, and Sam Waterston as Nick Carraway. This book has created a wide fan base since its first publication in 1925. The plot draws in the reader and makes them emotionally attached to the characters, as any good book does. That is why so many fans today in 2013 are ready for the next movie adaptation starring Leo DiCaprio as Gatsby, Toby Maguire as Nick Caraway, and Carey Mulligan as Daisy Buchanan.  Other cast members include Joel Edgerton, Isla Fisher, and Elizabeth Debicki. This star-studded cast is worth all the hype.

This movie will not fail to impress because the director adds a millennium-glam component to the lavish roaring twenties parties. The parties will be bigger, the clothes will be over-the-top beautiful, the cars will be extra shiny and vintage, and the cast is gorgeous. To add to the excitement of the movie, sponsors have come on board to advertise their products through the promotion of the movie. On the The Great Gatsby website by Warner Brothers, the sponsors are listed as MAC, Brooks Brothers, Fogal, Moet & Chandon, The Plaza, and Tiffany & Co.

This is a definitely a movie you won’t want to miss this summer! In preparation, reread the book to familiarize yourself, dress up in roaring twenties flapper outfits, drink a cocktail or mocktail from a highball glass, and have a ball!
