Get the Look: Prep School Cool

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at American chapter.

When one sees Blake Lively, the first thing he or she notices is how gorgeous she is. Second, would most probably be her great sense of style. It is surprising that her everyday chic sense of fashion is not from the work of a professional stylist, but from Blake herself. She seems to always still look great, comfortable, and confident in whatever she is wearing. When the season gets cold, the temptation to sacrifice style for comfort is common. Pay attention, collegiettes™ and take note from this outfit!

Here, Blake redefines the common plain white tee and jeans outfit with just a simple “uniform” jacket and a cute hobo, which she polishes up with a pair of simple black riding boots. This is a look that should inspire us to amp up our own look as during this transition into the D.C. winter season. It is just as easy to throw on this outfit rather than a pair of sweatpants when it gets chilly.

Since we are only college students and may not be able to afford designer labels, here are some similar affordable alternatives to get Blake’s prep-school look!

Jacket:

Forever 21: $23.88

American Eagle: $44.50

Boots:

The great thing about this simple outfit is that can be worn anywhere and anytime. It can easily transition from day to night, which can helpful on those busy days where we cannot simply change! Enjoy and happy shopping!
