Founder’s Day Ball Dress Guide: Why Buy When You Can Rent?

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at American chapter.

The big day is almost here! The annual Founder’s Day Ball is only four days away! The daunting question still remains though… what should you possibly wear?! With the help of Rent the Runway, the options are endless.

Rent the Runway has graciously offered a discount code for all American University students, allowing us to have access to the newest styles. Plus, if you rent a gown instead of buying a new one, you’re doing the environment a favor! Sustainable fashion is a must, especially for special occasions such as the ball.

At RTR, you can rent any dress your heart desires, with inclusive sizes ranging from 0-22. With a RTR Update membership, you can rent up to four pieces this month, including accessories for the night. The membership is affordable and with the code SHAREMORE19, you can get 25% off Update (you can even share it with a friend)! Not to mention, shipping is super fast and there’s a location in Georgetown, so you’ll definitely be ready for Saturday. Check out some style inspiration below!

If you’re looking for a classic and elegant look, these are the dresses for you:

Maybe you’re looking for something bold…

Or feminine!

That’s just a taste of their selection. When you rent, you don’t have to worry about old gowns taking up space in your closet. That way, you can spend the money you saved on a post-Founder’s brunch the next morning!

This semester, I am a Rent the Runway Rep, so I’m happy to help with anything and everything RTR. Feel free to contact me with any questions! Happy renting!

P.S. Need a bag or some jewelry? Check out these accessories as well.
