Fall Fashion Trends: Save & Splurge

Ah, the fall. Call me crazy but I’m ready to trade my shorts and flip flops for dark skinny jeans and boots. If you’re overwhelmed by the hundreds of pages each magazine’s September issue has, then have no fear I studied for you! I compiled a list of trends to keep an eye on for this fall as well as a variety of options either worth their splurge or inexpesive for those tight collegeiette budgets!

Emerald Green

Quite the color of the year! This shade of green can fit both casual and fancy styles and looks good on practically everyone.

Gray

Another color that was popular on the Fall 2013 runway this year was gray. This is another color that is flattering to all skin types and body shapes!

American Pastoral

When I first heard this trend’s name I was confused, but don’t let it fool you guys, it’s essentially what you’ve always been wearing in the fall (knit sweaters, boots, and plaid) it’s just that this trend was prominently featured this season.

Color Blocking

Color blocking was a big trend last year and is still one this year. What’s not to love?

Save: ModCloth $29.99

Splurge: Madewell $85

Patterns

Patterns were very big this season. Models were wearing the same pattern head to toe, but let’s be honest, who can get away with head to toe patterns besides fashion models (If you do wear head to toe pattern I do apologize, my friends and I cannot pull full-patterned outfits so I’m generalizing)

Save: H&M $24.95

Splurge: Zara $69.90

Leather

Leather is by no means a new trend. I love leather jackets because they can add a little punk to any outfit and are a fashion staple. It’s hard to find a good quality leather jacket for a inexpensive price but I tried my best!

Save: Nordstrom $64

Splurge: Topshop $104
