This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at American chapter.

Many know Donald Glover as his stage name “Childish Gambino” who has released three albums since 2011: Camp, Because the Internet, and “Awaken, My Love!” His album, Because the Internet (2013) was nominated for a Grammy Award for best rap album.

Last Sunday, Donald Glover took home an Emmy award for directing his critically acclaimed FX show Atlanta. He is the first black person to win an award for directing TV comedy. Earlier this year, Atlanta won a Golden Globe for Best Musical or Comedy TV Series and Glover received a Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy TV Series.

Glover graduated from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts with a degree in Dramatic Writing in 2006. From 2006-2009, he was a writer for 30 Rock on which he made several cameo appearances. He was presented with a Writers Guild of America Award for Best Comedy Series in 2009. Later the same year, Glover got his breakthrough role in the hit NBC sitcom Community and since then, he’s acted in The Martian, The Lazarus Effect, Spider Man: Homecoming, and many other films and TV shows.

If you Google Donald Glover, his Wikipedia bio describes him as an American actor, writer, producer, director, comedian, rapper, singer, and songwriter.

I mean just WOW! Forget Triple Threat! Glover has completely raised the bar in terms of what a creative person can achieve in their lifetime and he’s just getting started. Keep on the look out for Glover’s upcoming projects, including a rumored collab with Chance the Rapper.
