It’s that time of year again! Televisions across the world tuned in as sweaty, helmeted men battled in the name of all things American: pride, freedom, and Tumblr posts. Fans of both the Niners and Ravens felt their hearts grip as each quarter passed. That being said, beyond the cheers and tears that came with every pass and touchdown, we were all on the same team at commercial break. This year, companies paid $4 million for every 30 seconds of airtime. About 50 different commercials made their official debut during the game, but if you couldn’t watch all of them, don’t worry. I got your back. Introducing the top 5 commercials of Super Bowl XLVII!  (Plus a few more for funsies heh.)

Click on the commercial title in order to view the magic in a new window.

#5 E*Trade: “Save It”

Although the baby should actually be in middle school by now (the first E*Trade baby commercial aired in 2001!), these commercials haven’t gotten old.  In this commercial, Baby leaves the comfort of his home and computer to seek a new level of comfort.  Welcome to high class, deary.  #BOOM

#4 Audi: “Prom”

So simple.  So good.  Perhaps this is my inner screenwriter coming out, but this is definitely one of my favorite commercials purely because of the storyline.  We’re introduced to our lead who halfheartedly allows his mother to put the finishing touches to his prom attire.  He’s going stag, and everything seems to signal a forlorn night…until Dad throws him the keys to the 2013 Audi S6.  He’s got the suit!  He’s got the car!  And we got ourselves a keeper.

#3 Best Buy: “Asking Amy”

It’s a normal day, but when the only reply a Best Buy employee receives to “May I answer any questions?” is a smirk, you know hilarity is around the bend.  “Do you get commision?”  “What’s the Cloud?”  “Does it make you feel uncomfortable when I use the word, ‘dongle’?”  Thank you, Amy Poehler, for asking the friendly Best Buy employee the questions we actually want to ask.  Hmm…did I just admit too much?  This is the extended version, which didn’t air, but it’s just more of the awesome.

#2 Doritos: “Goat 4 Sale”

Bahahaha.  While watching it for the first time, I had very little idea where this commercial would take me, and even after viewing it a good 30 times (this is how much I love you all), there’s not much I can say about this commercial since it’s so out there.  What I can say, however, is that when 2,000 popsicle sticks, 150 bags of Doritos, and a chip-loving goat named Moose come together, commercial magic rains down.

And coming in at numero uno…

#1 M&M’s: “Love Ballad”

This was another commercial where the producers threw a plot twist at viewers.  Just when you’re eyes are ready to glaze over, and you’re mind drifts back to the bowl of chips…WAIT!  All of sudden you find yourself laughing as the music of love heads another direction, and Naya Rivera shows us what she really wants from her relationship.

The countdown stops here, but if you’re looking to procrastinate for another couple minutes, I devilishly offer the Honorable Mentions.  These are the commercials that didn’t quite make the cut, but are still great.  I call them Trendy, Aw, and Hip.

Trendy Wonderful Pistachios: “Get Crackin’”

Aw Budweiser: “Brotherhood”

Hip Taco Bell: “Viva Young”
