Mintwood Place, ranked #17 on the Washingtonian’s 2015 list of 100 Very Best Restaurants, serves a blend of American and French cuisine. While the escargot hush puppies looked inviting, I played it safe on the American side and opted for a big plate of smoked salmon and spinach eggs benedict. Topped with capers, this hearty meal was like a nova lox bagel – but better. The poached eggs were perfectly runny and the hollandaise sauce was tart, but not overwhelming. Mintwood Place is located in the heart of Adams Morgan at 1813 Columbia Rd, NW.
