Blake Lively is shutting down her lifestyle website Preserve which launched a little over a year ago. Now excuse me while I go scarf down ice cream and cry in my bed because if Blake canāt do it, then WHO CAN?!
Ok, maybe Iām being too dramatic, it’s not as bad as it sounds. Lively announced the shutdown of her website via Vogue where she candidly said, āIt’s very exciting and it’s also incredibly scary. I never thought I would have the bravery to actually do that, to take the site dark and to say, ‘You know what? I haven’t created something that is as true and impactful as I know it can and will be.
She goes on to say, “And I’m not going to continue to chase my tail and continue to put a product out there that we, as a team, are not proud of. We have an incredible team of people who do beautiful work, but we launched the site before it was ready, and it never caught up to its original mission: Itās not making a difference in peopleās lives, whether superficially or in a meaningful way. And thatās the whole reason I started this company, not just to fluff myself, like, āIām a celebrity! People will care what I have to say!ā It was so never meant to be that, and that kind of became the crutch because it was already up and already running, and itās hard to build a brand when youāre running full steam aheadāhow do you catch up?”
Blake we get it, you are a perfect human being and even when your ventures donāt go as planned, you still find a way to find the bright side. Blakeās recognition of her failure is quite refreshing. You donāt come across many people in Hollywood who are open and honest about their failures. Once again, Blake is a class act.
And as always Queen Serena is exiting with style and grace. But donāt be fooled. The blonde beauty will be back and better than ever.
