It’s time to get in the Christmas spirit (if you haven’t already), and what better way to get in the holiday mood then with some Christmas music? Nowadays, it seems like every artist puts out a Christmas album, so it’s hard to weed through all of them to find ones you like. That’s why we’ve put together a list of Christmas albums (new and old) to check out this holiday season! Happy listening!Â
1. Straight No Chaser:Â Under the Influence: Holiday Edition
The top dogs of acapella have done it again with another Christmas album (this is their third!) this time featuring artists such as Colbie Caillat and Paul McCartney. This album is perfect for anyone in your family.Â
Song Highlights:Â “Home by Christmas Day”, “Every Day is Christmas (feat. Colbie Caillat)”, “Nutcracker”, “Merry Christmas Baby (feat. Otis Redding)”, “Wonderful Christmastime (feat. Paul McCartney)”
2. The Beach Boys: The Beach Boys’ Christmas Album
This laid back, California-dreaming-of-sunshine-during-the-winter-as-you’re-watching-snow-fall-down-from-your-window-album is a classic. Who says you can’t feel like you’re at the beach during the winter?
Song Highlights:Â “Little Saint Nick”, “Blue Christmas”, “Frosty the Snowman”, “Merry Christmas, Baby”
3. She & Him:Â A Very She & Him Christmas
If it is even possible, Zooey Deschanel’s angelic voice sounds even more angelic singing Christmas music. Zooey (she) and M. Ward (him) have produced a near perfect Christmas album that you’ll never want to stop listening to for years to come.Â
Song Highlights: “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas”, “Sleigh Ride”, “Baby, It’s Cold Outside”, “Blue Christmas”
4. Michael BublĂ©: ChristmasÂ
Michael BublĂ©. Need we say more? Just his name enough makes you know this album is fantastic. Â
Song Highlights: “It’s Beginning to Look a lot Like Christmas”, “White Christmas” a duet with Shania Twain, “Holly Jolly Christmas”, “Cold December Night”
5. Justin Bieber:Â Under The Mistletoe
Justin Bieber combines fun and soul on his second studio album. Featuring artists such as Boyz II Men, Usher and The Band Perry, the variety of tunes makes this album great.Â
Song Highlights:Â “Mistletoe”, “Fa La La (a capella) Feat. Boyz II Men”, “Christmas Love”
6. Glee Cast:Â Glee: The Music, The Christmas Album Vol. 1, 2 and 3
Spanning three seasons, Glee‘s Christmas albums have every Christmas classic you could wish for. With over 20 songs, you will be entertained for hours listening to their melodic voices.Â
Song Highlights: “Baby, It’s Cold Outside”, “O Holy Night”, “We Need a Little Christmas”, “Merry Christmas Darling”, “All I Want for Christmas Is You”, “Santa Baby”, “Jingle Bell Rock”, “Feliz Navidad”, “The First Noel”
7. Pentatonix:Â PTXmas (Deluxe Edition)
Possibly my favorite new Christmas album of the year. Pentatonix, the winners of the accapella show “The Sing Off,” rock every single song. Go for the deluxe version, which includes two more awesome songs you don’t want to miss.Â
Song Highlights: “Angels We Have Heard On High”, “O Come, O Come Emmanuel”, “Carol of the Bells”, “Little Drummer Boy”, “Go Tell It on the Mountain”Â
8. Mariah Carey:Â Merry Christmas
Although she has one of the biggest Christmas songs ever, Mariah Carey’s entire album is worth a listen. Also worth a listen? Her follow up Christmas album, Merry Christmas II You.Â
Song Highlights:Â “All I Want For Christmas Is You”, “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)”, “Joy To The World”, “Santa Claus Is Coming To Town”
