In case you missed it, yesterday was the 86th birthday of America’s favorite mouse: Mickey Mouse. On November 18th, 1928, the iconic mouse made his appearance in Walt Disney’s black-and-white classic, “Steamboat Willie.” Although Mickey technically appeared for the first time six months earlier in a short called “Plane Crazy,” he was silent in that film. “Steamboat Willie” was the first time we saw and heard the Mickey Mouse that we know today.
In celebration of Mickey Mouse’s birthday, here are some Disney items that Disney fanatics need to know about. Because you’re never too old to love Disney.
Alex and Ani Disney Collection
Alex and Ani bracelets are extremely popular today. However, you may not be aware of the Alex and Ani Disney Collection, because these bracelets are not sold in tradiational Alex and Ani shops. There is a huge selection of Disney bracelets, ranging from Mickey Mouse to even an Elsa and an Anna bracelet. These are mainly sold throughout Disney World and Disneyland shops, but are also available on The Disney Store’s website.

You may not even be aware that this exists, but you definitely should. Vera Bradley offers a full line of purses, book bags and wallets with Mickey and Minnie themed patterns. Spice up your dorm room with some unique decorative Disney pillows. Disney World and Disneyland sell these in their stores, but you can also buy them at Your WDW Store.
There are several designers out there who make Disney themed cases and skins for technology. Etsy is a good place to search, because many of the best designs are not from large companies. Other sites to try are Zazzle and Decal Girl.
